And afterwards - TREATS!!!! yum
This year's Halloween "Princess Costume on Demand" -- a "RAINBOW MERMAID PRINCESS"! Last year's was the "Orange Pumpkin Princess"
This year's costume started with this pattern, some slinky green-y rainbow-y and some slinky flesh tone fabric, and a whole lot of sequin stuff. A trip to Joanne fabric yielded some sparkley "seaweed". That, added to a bunch of seashells and beads from her toy chest and a lot of hot glue, and we were "good to go".
Chad got Charlie's "Flounder" costume from Internet Disney. We were excited about it, but Charlie couldn't have cared less!
Gracie missed Trick or Treating in her mermaid costume at the downtown East Lansing merchants event (because I waited too long to start sewing and had so much trouble with it when I did), but we made it just fine for Boo at the Zoo at Potter Park on Sunday.
There was no shortage of treats and candy handed out by the zoo hosts and the animals were all in fine form. The peacocks were especially friendly (I suppose it had something to do with those bags of popcorn we had!)
Later there was a fun pumpkin carving party at Maddie LeFevre's house, complete with pumpkin guts and goo.

THE PARADE AT SCHOOL -- Charlie's FIRST!!!
Trick or Treating in the neighborhood - a Mermaid Girl and her faithful Pirate DOG!!
And her favorite friend - Governor Granholm. Sweet!!
